In 2019 our family visited the Military Museum in Soest. Our kids were 10 (boy), 9 (girl), 7 (boy), and 3 (girl) at the time. We bought a museum year card and that has been one of the best things we have done here. There are so many awesome museums to visit and once you have your museum year card you can enter almost all of them for free (with some exceptions).
You should visit the military musuem if…
1. your child loves military vehicles

The name speaks for itself, it’s a military museum and it has the largest military collection of the Netherlands. In the covered area there are 19 planes hanging from the ceiling. All top pieces of Dutch military history (according to their website because I wouldn’t know). This area is full of other military vehicles and our kids (both boys and girls) loved seeing them.

2. your child loves interactive games
Right next to the military vehicles you will find an interactive theme rooms with all kinds of games. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and even my husband played some games himself.

You should visit the military museum if…
3. your child would love to drive a mini tank or mini jeep
The outside is pretty stretched out. There were some vehicles to explore and there was space to play and discover (a military jeep the kids played in and an obstacle course). Our oldest got to drive a mini tank (7,50 euro per person) and the other 3 kids drove a mini jeep (3 euros per person).

You do have to pay separately for this so keep this in mind. And by the way, to drive the mini tank the kids have to be a minimum of 8 years old and minimum height 1.35m. The mini jeep is from 3 years and up. Our kids had a great time and we are planning to go a second time as by now our youngest son can also drive the mini tank. Keep in mind that all this is outside so check the weather before planning.

I hope this has been helpful for you and please let me know if you go and visit. Until next time!
