You might be looking for a Dutch Tulip Photography Course in the Spring. Last week I took a Tulip Photography BBQ course in Noordwijkerhout. I have photographed tulips before in the Lisse area and in Zeeland but not as part of a course. So, I really wanted to take a tulip photography course. I was a bit late with my planning and so all the tulip photography courses were sold out. Except this one. Normally, I would probably not book a BBQ course as I go alone, but this was actually really nice and I got my first BBQ of 2023! I didn’t know either of them but discovered them through instagram.
Start of the Workshop
The mini course walk-in started at 6 o’clock in Noordwijkerhout at the tulip farm of the Pennings family.

They had this cute little camper where you could order your drinks (from the owners of the tulip farm). Two drinks were included with the BBQ.
First Photography Moment
Once everyone arrived and the introduction by Nick and Ewout was made, we got a chance to take photos on the tulip fields in front and behind us. I saw Ewout walking around asking people if they needed help or tips.

BBQ and Drinks
Around seven o’clock we were called back to the BBQ and we got to relax, enjoy the BBQ and mingle. There was a relaxt ambiance and the weather was actually very nice. A bit windy and chilly but very sunny.

Sunset Tulip Photography
At about 7.45 we drove to the next tulip field to take sunset photos. This was just a 2 minute drive. There was a sign in front of the fields with “reserved for a group of photographers”.

Over all, it was really nice to be back outside photographing tulips. To be honest, it didn’t feel like a course to me as I did all my shooting by myself and didn’t really get personal attention. I would say that the group was too big to get a lot of personal attention. I got to ask Ewout what filters he used (he doesn’t) and he helped me get my tripod lower (mine is a bit of a headache), that’s about it. At my last workshop the group had a maximum of 10 people and here it was about 25 I think?
But over all, I had a great time and drove home very happy and content.
It was a nice experience with the BBQ and meeting new people and having a field all ready for you without having to explore that yourself.
